My desire to photograph pets was inspired by Molly, a twelve-year old Brittany.

While I was visiting a friend I was saddened to learn that their family dog Molly was ill and wasn’t expected to live much longer. I asked if I could take some pictures of Molly as she played with their other dog and interacted with her humans in the comfort of her own backyard.

Despite her fatigue and discomfort, I was lucky to capture the sparkle in her eyes that I had seen in earlier years. Molly passed a few weeks later. I felt blessed that I was able to provide my friends with photographs of their beloved family member.

In the past I enjoyed photographing animals just for fun but after that experience it occurred to me to provide families with a series of quality photographs that show the true personality and spirit of their favorite four-legged beasts and thus, Vinpet was born.

It was great to have known you, Molly. We think of you often.
